Another Tuesday night on the Jupiter intracoastal, another 70 paddlers filling the water behind Blueline Surf & Paddle Co. with everything from race boards and prone boards to skis, OC1s, and va’a canoes.
More than 40 paddlers took on the 3 and 4.6-mile courses while another 30 cruised the protected waters around Burt Reynolds Island enjoying the now-famous Tuesday night social paddle. Some came to race. Some came to train. Some came for sunset laps with friends and family through the calm Intracoastal waters behind Guanabanas.
That balance is what continues to make Tuesday Night Race League one of the most unique paddle events. New paddlers joing the race crowd, and everyone blending together post paddle.
And once the paddling wrapped up, the Guanabanas turned into an after-party once again. Chicken and rice, with guac and pico on the buffet, from Guanabanas disappeared quickly, free beers and those without alchol were flowing, and paddlers traded stories while the sun disappeared and the sky turned orange.
Now somehow, we’re already heading into the finale.
Next Tuesday marks the official season-ending make-up race for the Week 10 rainout, followed by the post-Memorial Day send-off party starting at 7 PM. Expect another fun paddle before another TNRL season goes in the books. Sign up for week 10 here!
