From the Eastern Surfing Association (ESA) South Florida Contest on Saturday to the 14th Annual Log Jam – “You’ve Surfed Worse” on Sunday, the beach was full of energy, families, groms, longtime surfers, and the waves, well the Log Jam's title wasn't wrong. 

Blueline Surf & Paddle was proud to be part of the weekend and host the ESA awards afterwards at the shop.

Surf contests are always fun, but weekends like this remind everyone why the Jupiter surf community is one we love being apart of.

ESA South Florida Contest – Nearly 60 Years of Surfing Tradition

Saturday kicked off with the ESA South Florida Surf Contest, part of the Eastern Surfing Association’s nearly 60-year history of amateur surfing competition.

The ESA is the largest amateur surfing association in the world, with districts stretching across 2,000 miles of coastline from Maine to Florida and the Great Lakes. The organization has long been known for creating a family-friendly competitive environment, where it’s common to see multiple generations of surfers competing in the same events.

From young groms to seasoned competitors, surfers hit the water throughout the day putting together strong performances in classic Florida surf.

The ESA program continues to be one of the best pathways for amateur surfers looking to progress through district events and eventually qualify for regional championships and national competition.

After the contest wrapped up, competitors and families made their way over to Blueline Surf & Paddle for the awards celebration, keeping the stoke going off the beach.

Upcoming competitors will now set their sights on the ESA Southeast Regional Championships happening April 10–12 in Melbourne Beach.

Log Jam 14 – Longboards, Good Vibes, and Surfing with Friends

Sunday brought a completely different energy to the beach with the 14th Annual Log Jam – “You’ve Surfed Worse.”

If ESA represents structured competition, Log Jam is the laid back, fun filled  longboarding contest.

The contest celebrates traditional logging, community, and why we love surfing with friends.

Surfers showed up with 9-foot logs, soft tops, and anything else they could ride, competing in three divisions:

• Men’s
• Women’s
• Groms

With beach registration in the morning and the first heats running shortly after, the event quickly turned into a full beach gathering of surfers, photographers, and spectators enjoying the day together.

True to Log Jam tradition, the focus wasn’t on serious competition but on having fun, sharing waves, and celebrating the surf community.

A Weekend That Shows What the Jupiter Surf Scene Is All About

Between the ESA contest and Log Jam, the weekend showcased the full spectrum of the Jupiter surf scene:

• Competitive amateur surfing
• Next generation groms charging
• Longboard style and creativity
• A community that shows up for each other

From the beach to the awards at Blueline, it was a reminder that surfing in Jupiter is more than just waves — it’s a community.
