Yesterday afternoon I jumped on a Jupiter Pointe Boat Club boat out of Blue Pointe Marina around 1 PM to go catch bait before making an offshore run. Conditions weren’t brutal by Florida summer standards, but they were definitely warm. Air temps sat in the high 80s while the real feel crept into the low 90s. A steady east southeast wind pushed over 10 mph across the water, adding a little texture to the ride.
I decided it was the perfect time to put the new Diamond Ghostlite Tech Hoody Charcoal and Triangle Lighthouse Excursion Rope Hat Azure to the test.

Instead, the Ghostlite felt noticeably lighter and more breathable than most performance hoodies I’ve worn offshore. Even in the Charcoal heathered colorway, it kept the heat off and stayed comfortable throughout the afternoon.
The lightweight feel really stood out while moving around the boat catching bait and running offshore. It never felt heavy, sticky, or heat-soaked the way some UV shirts can after a few hours in the sun.
The Excursion Rope Hat features water-resistant construction, moisture-wicking fabric, and floating visor technology designed specifically for life around the water. After spending the afternoon around tuna and bonita, the hat got covered in blood, salt spray, sweat, and just about everything else you’d expect from a South Florida fishing trip.
