The Blueline Rum Runner Recipe

If there’s one drink that embodies the carefree spirit of Florida’s tiki bars and sandy shores, it’s the Rum Runner. Legend has it this tropical cocktail was first shaken up in the late 1950s in Islamorada, Florida Keys. Named after the bootleggers who once smuggled liquor through the Florida waterways, the Rum Runner is fruity, strong, and dangerously easy to sip.

Whether you’re lounging poolside, hosting a backyard barbecue, or just channeling island vibes at home, this drink brings a little sunshine to your glass.

🍹 Ingredients (Single Serving)

  • 1 oz light rum

  • 1 oz dark rum

  • 1 oz banana liqueur

  • 1 oz blackberry liqueur

  • 1 oz orange juice

  • 1 oz pineapple juice

  • Splash of grenadine (for color & sweetness)

  • Fresh fruit garnish (orange slice, pineapple wedge, or cherry)

🥥 Instructions

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

  2. Add both rums, banana liqueur, blackberry liqueur, orange juice, pineapple juice, and grenadine.

  3. Shake well until chilled.

  4. Strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice.

  5. Garnish with fruit and a tiny paper umbrella. 

  6. Enjoy, Preferably in a backyard tiki bar.
